Although the Brazilian won a penalty, his attempt to win and follow-up was saved by IIIan Meslier, Leeds’ goalkeeper.

Half-time saw many changes between the sides, but one would win the match. Danny Ings won the spot with no mistakes after Villa was given a penalty for handball.

Leeds failed to respond and was dealt a severe blow by Archie Gray, a youngster who was forced from the field following a tough challenge.

Villa will now take on Brisbane Roar on Wednesday, while Leeds takes on Crystal Palace in Perth Friday.

Ings is poised to have a better season at Villa

Ings won the match against Leeds despite only playing the second-half. He looked like someone who had a point to prove.

The 29-year old Villa player has only scored seven goals his first season. He knows that he must produce more goals for Villa if he wants to continue playing regularly in this campaign.

Ings’ match against Leeds shows that he is still capable and capable of performing consistently in the last third.

The English striker was able to convert a penalty to win the goal and continue to harass the Leeds defense.

Villa could be the team to cause most Premier League teams headaches if Ings can replicate his Southampton heroics of the 2019-20 season.

Sporting News 2022 preseason All American team features players from all walks of the sport.

Alabama’s Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, and Will Anderson, linebacker, are two of the Crimson Tide players. Ohio State is led by Jaxon Smith Njigba and TreVeyon Henderson, first-team selections.

With 16 players, the SEC topped all conferences. The Big Ten had eleven players and the ACC had seven.

Sporting News is among five outlets that determine the consensus All-American status at season’s end. Here’s a look at the Preseason All American team for this year:

First offense

QB: Bryce Young, Alabama

Young is the returning SN Player of Year. However, there was strong consideration for Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud will be in this spot. The 2022 NFL Draft will see the head-to-head rivalry continue. Young’s 2021 season was a brilliant one. He had a stunning 421-yard, three TD performance against Georgia in the SEC championship match. Young was able to finish with 4,872 yards and 47 TDs, as well as seven interceptions.

RB: Bijan Robinson, Texas

Robinson was also a SN Preseason All-American in 2013. He had 1,422 yards from scrimmage last year and 15 total TDs. In the past two seasons, he has averaged 6.5 yards per run and 12 yards per catch. He also had six TDs as a passcatcher. Quinn Ewers, Quinn’s quarterback, could lead to more production for the talented junior.

RB: TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State

Henderson’s 270-yard outburst against Tulsa in Week 3 was an earlier-than-expected arrival last season. Henderson rushed for 1,248 yards, 312 receiving yards, and 19 touchdowns while averaging 7.4 yards an offensive touch. This is yet another important part of Ohio State‚Äôs high-scoring offense that will continue to produce prolific numbers in the Big Ten.
