The former Indian captain has expressed gratitude to captain Pakistan captain for the assistance.

The Pakistan captain had backed Virat Kohli to be a star through tweet.

If asked to clarify his tweet Babar declared during his press conference prior to the start of the opening Test against Sri Lanka, “I just feel that in the present situation Kohli needs support and to be backed. I tweeted wishing him the best because I know how a player feels when he is going through this period and he needs the support of everyone.”

Kohli, who was the former Indian captain has expressed his gratitude to the highest-ranked ODI and T20I batters in the MRF Tyres ICC Player Rankings for his help.┬áIn a graceful manner, Kohli replied, “Thank you. Keep shining and rising. Wish you all the best.”

Kohli has struggled recently to get back into his form, resulting in critiques from some sections of the media about his position within the Indian set-up. Former Indian captain Kapil Dev also suggested India should select players based according to their performance, not based on their reputation.

The first ODI was not played against England because of a groin strain, Kohli made just 16 in the second game that India was defeated with 100-run margin at Lord’s.

The right-hander is now playing in 77 international innings with no chance of getting to three figures, following scores of 11 and 1 for the T20I series, and a fumble in the fifth Test that was rescheduled.

Kohli will not also be an integral part of this year’s Indian T20I squad which will be traveling to through the West Indies later this month. With the T20 World Cup in Australia just around the corner The Indian team’s management has been waiting for Kohli returns to form and gets his throbbing with all his the cylinders.

Michael Atherton has defended Jos Buttler and stated that things will improve for him as captain in the future. Buttler assumed the captaincy responsibility from one of England’s top leaders Eoin Morgan prior to his T20I series with India. But it hasn’t been a great beginning for him thus far since England have lost their T20I series 2-1, and they fell in the opening Test by the same amount of wickets. But, they returned during the second one and score a win of 100 runs.

Atherton believes that the ECB took the right decision to choose Buttler the successor to Morgan who was the one who led them to the 2019 ODI World Cup glory.

“It was a perfect choice to choose to make Jos Buttler the captain. There was one or two options they might have considered and most notably Moeen Ali. But Buttler was the vice captain. He played when Morgan was absent at times and did a decent task,” Atherton said on Sony Sports.

Buttler, the former England captain stated that modern day cricketers are scrutinized very early, and suggested that everyone needs to allow Buttler the time to grow as a captain.

“It is still early. I believe that in the field that you are familiar with in the television and written world it is very easy to make quick judgments. However, I believe you need to allow it to unfold a bit and then watch it evolve,” he said.
